This well known Shakespeare comedy centres around Falstaff, one of his most popular characters. Sir John Falstaff, penniless as usual, arrives in Windsor with his cronies and hatches a plan to get some money by pretending to court two married women. His plot is uncovered almost immediately and the clever women of Windsor set about to teach Sir John a lesson. Intelligent women, jealous husbands, scheming servants and an overweight hero full of bluster add up to one of Shakespeare’s most delightful and popular comedies.
