4th Annual NPCC Sports Celebrity Dinner May 4th

The fourth Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner in support of the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre is scheduled for May 4, 2010 at Club Roma, 125 Vansickle Road, St. Catharines.

Jack Foster, Chair of the NPCC Foundation Board of Trustees has announced that this year’s main theme will highlight the Buffalo Sabres Alumni with some current team members also expected to be in attendence.  Alumni confirmed to date include Larry Playfair, Rob Ray, Danny Gare and Rick Martin and the sports committee is hopeful that the two remaining members of the French connection, Gilbert Perrault and Rene Robert will join their former line mate Martin.

By popular demand, NHL Legend Dennis Hull is returning as key-note speaker with his distinctive style of comedy.

Other celebrities to date include CFL Hall of famer and wrestling great Angelo Mosca, Former Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins goalie Ed Chadwick, Hamilton TigerCat George Hudson Jr., Toronto Argonaut Randy Srochenski and Mike Accursi of the Buffalo Bandits National Lacrosse League.  Accursi is also known for carrying the Olympic torch and lighting the community cauldron on the December Olympics torch day in St. Catharines.

Other celebrities are expected to be announced soon, and year 2010 inductees of the St. Catharines Hall of Fame will also be honoured.

Foster says, "we are pleased that Scotiabank/ScotiaMcLeod has again agreed to be the corporate sponsor for the event which last year was sold out, and there are already a number of tables sold out for this year’s event".

The May 4 evening will commence with cocktails and a silent auction of valuable sports memorabilia at 6:00 p.m. with dinner at 7:15 p.m.  Throughout the evening there will also be a live auction of other sports items, and an opportunity for celebrity autographs.

Tickets are $100.00 each with tables of ten being encouraged with a $60.00 per ticket tax receipt.  Tables of 8 are also available as well as individual tickets.

Tickets can be purchased at the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre reception, 567 Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines. 

The Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre provides therapy for more than 3,000 children with physical and communicative disabilities from all 12 municipalities in Regional Niagara.
