Mayor Vance Badawey and Mayor Barbara Henderson are pleased to announce that they will be combining their efforts once again to raise much needed funds for two regional charities, while planning a wonderful day of golfing and camaraderie.  The Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre (NPCC) and Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Foundation will be recipients of the proceeds.  Last year, each charity received over $5,000.

While these are tough economic times for everyone, they are especially tough on charities who rely on community donations to support their much needed programming, such as these two vital organizations that are making a difference in the lives of men, women and children in Niagara.

Mayor Barbara Henderson says, "Council for the Township of Wainfleet is excited to announce that event proceeds from the City of Port Colborne and Wainfleet Mayors’ Charity Golf Challenge will be directed to the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre (NPCC) and Wellspring Niagara.  On behalf of the Township of Wainfleet, it is our privilege to raise funds that will promote a better way of life for citizens in our community and the Niagara Region as a whole".

Mayor Vance Badawey says, " This tournament represents partnerships.  Two communities along with two organizations coming together with 144 golfers to raise funds for the young and young at heart.  It is a privilege to extend our efforts toward those that are in need of the services provided by both the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre Foundation and Wellspring Niagara".

Join the Mayors’ for a day on the links, Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Port Colborne Country Club and Golf Course in Wainfleet.  Registration is at 11:30 am with shotgun start at 1:00 pm and includes lunch, golf & cart, dinner and auctions, raffle, prizes and so much more.
